PennChat is an official enterprise portal that brings together multiple Large Language Models, including Claude and ChatGPT, in a customizable interface (chat only). It is now available to all faculty, staff, and students. The portal is hosted within Penn's secure network environment, where companies cannot use Penn data to train AI models. We will continue to add features over the coming months based on user feedback, including live web search. Please feel free to forward this email to any appropriate constituents.
Using PennChat
- The University of Pennsylvania permits the use of PennChat for Low, Moderate, and most High-risk data, except SSNs and credit card data. Please avoid entering identifiable and protected health information (including names and Medical Record Numbers) when not specifically needed to complete the task. Penn's Data Risk Classification Policy is located at: https://isc.upenn.edu/security/penn-data-risk-classification
- Every user is allocated a certain number of daily credit tokens to use to interact with different LLM models. Based on utilization and ongoing funding, this allocation may increase. Please see FAQs for details.
As with all generative AI, please review all outputs for accuracy, security, compliance, and appropriateness before use. Please follow Penn's Guidance for Use of Generative AI: https://isc.upenn.edu/security/AI-guidance
